How shall I visit the Basilica?
Beside being a grand architectural monument, the St. Mark's Basilica is also an important place of worship and as such it deserves respect. Therefore you should remember to wear adequate clothes and to respect the silence during your visit that should not last for longer than 10 minutes. This time is sufficient to visit the building and allows to reduce the wait for those that have to get in.
How can I book a visit?
Inside Booking engine you can choose the date and time of your visit, if these are available you will be asked to enter your birth details which will be used to compile the voucher you need to show on entering the Basilica. The gateway for visitors in possession of vouchers, as shown in Fig. 1A, is the door of San Pietro.
For administrative reasons you can only book up to 48 hours before your visit and no more than 5 people.
How much do the visit and entry ticket cost?
Both InsidecomTelebooking /www.venetoinside.com booking service and the visit to the basilica are completely free of charge.
How I cancel my booking?
Only operators have access to the list of bookings and are allowed to cancel them. If you wish to do so, thereby allowing somebody else to book instead, please send your request to basilicasanmarco.venetoinside@infracom.it
And if I wish a guided tour?
For guided tours you have to turn to the Association of Venetian Guide Lecturers who will also book your visit.
How can we make a group booking?
If you need to book more than five people, please contact one of the registered agencies listed at the bottom.
Schools and Church Trips
If you want to make a booking for a school group or a church trip, please send your request to the email turismo@infracom.it with the exact details of the group: number of participants, address, name of person in charge, date and time of visit. We will endeavour to check availability and get back to you within the following 72 hours.
Note
Access to the Basilica with rucksacks, luggage and handbags is forbidden. Before entering we advise you to leave your luggage, free of charge, at the Ateneo San Basso next to the Basilica.
