Description
Casa dei Greci is located on the first floor of a typical Venetian building, built by the famous and great architect Baldassarre Longhena in 1658, who also built the Salute Church.
Casa dei Greci is easily reachable: it‘s just a 5 minute walk from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop. The apartment is located between two “calli,“ (typical Venetian streets) in a very quiet area out of the flow of tourists.
In 2009 the apartment was completely renovated. Mainly furnished in a modern style, Casa dei Greci also has a touch of the antique, including the sideboard in the kitchen and the small desk and armchair in the master bedroom.
In the central room there is a work of art (by a great artist from Atlanta, Deanna Sirlin, who showed art at the Biennale) which has been transferred to the wood floor using a special technique. On the wall are some paintings from customers and friends (such as Patrick Smith from San Francisco).
The Greek Church features a very interesting show of icons and the bell tower offers a great background for your photos
