Considered one of the most fascinating and unusual itineraries in Venice, this tour will lead you to discover the enticing atmospheres of Venice and the East.

Venice and the Orient, a tour that will put you in contact with the crucible of races, cultures and religions that have coexisted for centuries in Venice pursuing their customs and traditions with mutual respect.

A fascinating Cannaregio Jewish Ghetto tour on foot: new and original itineraries to get to know the multi-ethnic atmosphere of this extraordinary city and the charming atmospheres of the East that can be relished in some areas of Venice.

Between Rialto and the charming Cannaregio district, a journey to discover the East with historic buildings, picturesque squares and the ancient Jewish Ghetto of Venice, a unique and magical tour to admire a different side of Venice.

Our Jewish Ghetto Tour, Venice will start from Campo San Bortolomio, next to the Rialto Bridge, an area that has been
hosting for centuries a traditional fish and vegetable market with the characteristic Middle-Eastern souk arrangement.
But the ‘spiritual’ start of the tour will be Campiello del Milion, where Marco Polo’s house once stood and from where he set off on his epic journey to the East.

On your way to the Cannaregio district you can admire the Church of the Abbey of Misericordia and the Madonna dell’Orto - the meeting point of the culture of the East and Tintoretto’s Renaissance culture, once the artist’s atelier and now housing his tomb.

The itinerary in Cannaregio will show you the real atmospheres of Venice and the Orient, including Palazzo Mastelli, also known as “del Cammello” for the high relief adorning its façade, and the statues in the nearby Campo dei Mori and the famous Cannaregio Jewish Ghetto – a detailed and very interesting guided tour.

You will experience one of the most intense moments of our Ghetto Tour in Venice when visiting the Jewish ghetto in Venice, the oldest ghetto in the world still inhabited by the Jewish community of Venice. A corner of the city imbued with the strong atmosphere of the East, the Ghetto is one of the most poignant locations in the entire city.

The last stage of this Ghetto tour of Venice in Italy will be Strada Nuova. In this lively street of Venice, you will savour unique coffee inside one of the most characteristic coffee roasting houses of Venice: exhilarated by the intense scents of the rooms, you will taste the best coffee blends in Venice. Perhaps not everyone knows that coffee first appeared in Italy in Venice around 1570, thanks to a botanist from Padova who had brought a few sacks back from the East.

Venice and the East, a tour to experience Venice in a new way and get in touch with its real Oriental soul: a guided tour
of the Jewish Ghetto in Venice Italy and the Rialto area, discovering historic buildings and beautiful sceneries immersed in the magical atmospheres of the East.
