Opened in 1998 after the previous family owners Brunello, Vignale di Cecilia is a small vineyard in the Veneto situated in the Euganean Hills, a corner of the Mediterranean lying in the mainland between Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Verona.
The unique climate of the area is determined by its being near the sea and also by its volcanic chalky soil. This particular type of terrain favours the cultivation of vine producing special, if not unique wines.
Paolo will guide you through the Vignale di Cecilia vineyard, explaining the four wines produced here, Passacaglia, Covolo, Folìa and Benavides: four names which mark the Vignale di Cecilia out from other vineyards : altogether a total of no less than 30000 bottles of wine per year are produced.
The relationship between quality and price is a constant focus of attention with Paolo. Viewing the wines of the Vignale di Cecilia in comparison with other vineyards of the Euganean Hills they offer the best quality to the customer.
Paolo works with the utmost respect to the environment, eliminating artifical products as much as possible and privileging manual operations which permit the interpretation of the language of the vines. The results, using the least intrusive methods possible, are wines of grand character and superior taste. The Vignale di Cecilia vineyard invites you to sample their specialities: Passacaglia, Covolo, Folìa and Benavides.

How to reach
From the highway A13 BO-PD take the exit Monselice, then cross the city centre and go straight, direction Baone.
Once reached Baone, turn right to Valle San Giorgio; after about 1.5 kms, on the right, you can find Vignale di Cecilia, indicated by a white poster.
Passacaglia
A red wine made from Merlot, Cabernet and Barbera grapes. It comes produced in limited quantities which allows to obtain a turn out of maximum quality, by selecting the best grapes. Complex, evolved, and natural (not filtered).
Folìa
A white wine made from Moscato grapes with a late harvest. The turn out is a natural withering that gives a unique scent and richness in the grapes. The spontaneous fermenting leaves a residual in the wine, sweet but not excessive.
Covolo
A red wine from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The winemaking and refinement in concrete use the fruit of this wine, which represents to its maximum the philosophic interpretation of the owner: wine of terroir, simple but rich of emotions.
Benavides
A white dry wine from Moscato and Garganega grapes, it is the last wine born in Vignale di Cecilia, from the best vineyards with white grapes. A short maceration of the grapes and the spontaneous fermentation exalts the characteristics of this wine.
