There is no need to leave the surrounding walls of the Cantina Castello di Roncade winery to see the passion involved here: from the windows in the towers the view leads out onto the vineyards of the winery, which begin just after the walls, and which are the secret of some of the best wines in the region: a winetasting makes this clear from the very first drop. A visit to the wine shops here should not misss this exquisite jewel which combines passion and tradition.
Even the terrain usually given to cultivation of vegetables or fruit is here employed in vine growing. The luminous windows reveal all the activity and beauty, in which is set the sumptuous villa. Not many wineries can boast of such marvellous advantages: an ancient castle immersed in lush vineyards, producing an incomparable nectar.
Each vine is meiticulously care fro, with atentative selection of the composition of the earth, density of planting, type of cultivation and the best choice of vines: attention which, united with the historical background of the Castello di Roncade winery, raises it head and shoulders above the others.
If your holiday is in the province of Treviso and you wish to undertake a wine shop tour, a stop at the Castello di Roncade is almost obligatory: a winetasting at the Cantina Castello di Roncade is the key to another world.

Delicious specialities in an elegant environment
Notwithstanding the most modern equipment used, the harvesting of the grapes follows the manual mode. The wines of the March have their own distinctive taste, thanks mainly to their being produced with this respect to nature - something of which the Cantina Castello di Roncade winery provides one of the best examples. These wineries bear witnes to the predominantly agricultural vocation in the region. A visit to the wine shops here is recommended equally as much as a visit to artisitc centres, as, quite simply, winemaking is an art all by itself.
In addition to its meticulous selection of the harvest, the Castello di Roncade pays minute attention to the interior of the cellar, completely integrated.
This allows the wines to be bottled after a period of one to two years in a natural manner, in the same way as the vines are grown: time is the only added ingredient.
A wine shop tour allows you to sample spumanti such as Prosecco Brut and Patriarca Spumante of Pinot Nero or reds like Cabernet Doc Piave and Villa Giustinian, some of the real gems of the wines of the March. A visit to the province of Treviso should not miss out on the chance of sampling its delicious wines. A guided winetasting is however the best way to understand and appreciate that here in Treviso wine is one of the principal values of the region.
