Wine tasting in the Valpolicella wineries evokes the flavour of the solemn nature which embraces the area. History and nature are in Valpolicella two inseperable terms, not only owing to the coexistence of its villages, villas and rural churches with the spectacular flora and fauna, but also because of its wines: the Romans knew these wines, though their origins go back at least as far as the 5th century B.C. Likewise the Valpolicella wineries and vineyards invariably offer an authentic piece of history. Three valleys blessed with a climate favourable to wine growing, dotted with wineries. On a Valpolicella wineries tour it is possible to sample the wines, visit the nearby towns and villages, and experience the various phases of production in the Valpolicella wineries. Valpolicella wines are made up of three varieties: Valpolicella , Recioto della Valpolicella, and Amarone della Valpolicella. Recioto and Amarone are passito wines unique in Italy. A Valpolicella wineries tour would not be complete without tasting these Valpolicella wines.
