The history of the Manara winery is similar to other vineyards in Valpolicella: began in 1950 it has seen three generations carrying on the winemaking tradition with passion and experience.

The progresive growth of the winery over recent years is certainly due to the generational change: the brothers Lorenzo, Fabio and Giovanni Manara now oversee all the phases of production and sales of its wines, the celebrated  Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella.

The expansion of the winery, with its new functional cantina, has optimized the production process and has allowed an even higher standard of wine, though maintaining the distinctive characteristics which distinguish them from those of other wineries.

It is possible to visit the  Cantina Manara and taste typical wines of the area such as Amarone and Recioto.

The 11 hectares which surround the Manara winery extend over the sloopes of the hills of the region of Valpolicella , between San Pietro in Cariano, Negrar and Marano di Valpolicella.

The hotels in the area

Locanda San Verolo

Locanda San Verolo is an imposing 18th Century mansion recently refurbished to  incredibly high standards.

Casa Pierina

Casa Pierina represents a friendly, trustworthy guest farm with a homey atmosphere.

The wines here produced arise from the premise that the characteristics of the soil have to be respected in order to achieve recognizable results such as inherent in Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella  wines. In this sense the grapes are harvested from different areas, and cultivated in a different manner.

The Manara winery won the gold medal at Vinitaly 2009 with its red 'Guido Manara 2005'. A wine tasting at the Cantina Manara , sampling the classic Amarone and Recioto, gives the true flavour of Valpolicella.
