60th Grapes Festival

The time of grape picking always brings with it an extraordinary world of fascinating tastes and traditions. During the closing stages of the summer the countryside becomes a hymn to the beauty of nature and the still mild temperatures lure people to the outdoors to savour this. The time of the year generally lasting until the end of October is celebrated everywhere with festivals that promote food and wine produces and bring together local delicacies and a whole series of different themes. Particularly suggestive and well renowned is the traditional Local Grape Festival that takes place on the second and third Sunday of the month at Vò Euganeo, an ancient village set in the natural stage of the Euganei Hills, which was once an important trade centre and port. This village with its beautiful glimpse of history, which one can enjoy in the older quarter of Vò Vecchio, is at the forefront of the wine production in the Euganei Hills with several top quality varieties that sum up all the best flavours wine can offer. During the Grape Festival, the streets of Vò are filled with stalls offering local produces and delicacies from the Euganei Hills including splendid objects from the craftsmen in the area. During the first week of the festival you will be able to enjoy relaxing bikes tours amongst the vines and the surrounding nature and attend round table debates, but it is on the third Sunday that the event reaches its climax, when ornamental carts parade down the streets completely decorated with grapes. An event not to be missed to savour the wine history and tradition from the splendid area of the Euganei Hills.
