Venice – The Show

How did Venice come into being? What secrets do its alleyways and small squares conceal? Where does its fascination come from? This and much more can be discovered thanks to the show “Venice –The Show”. The story presented by this play starts by describing the beginning of Venice: originally it was a series of small islands scattered in the lagoon that, once joined thanks to humankind’s genius, became one of the most important and vital cities in Europe, from both an economic and cultural point of view (deservedly giving it the name of “Serenissima”). This play is meant to both entertain the public and chant the beauty and cultural importance of this marvellous and unique city. Thanks to state-of-the-art technological effects, such as amazing screenings and embracing music, the spectator is flung into the story itself, to live first hand the purloining of St Mark’s mortal remains and sharing the amazement of Lord Byron who, standing along the Canal Grande, was lost in wonder whilst gazing at the fireworks during the night of Redentore, one of the most magical festivals in Venice. “Venice – The Show” of Davide Bozzato is in short a commedia and will be on show everyday until February 29th at the Theatre San Gallo, in the most vibrant hub of the city a few steps from St Mark’s Square. A success that will thrill all spectators who will enjoy an unusual and at the same time involving way, of getting to know and appreciate as best as possible the story of this city.
