With its fun-loving and social divisions crushing spirit, Carnival is a very old celebration that has found in Venice one of the most evocative and high-spirited representations.
Considered the most important folklore event in Veneto, Venice Carnival every year attracts thousands of tourists and transforms the city into a true stage where entertainment, food and music events follow one another.
Although every year Carnival is organized by a different director and has distinctive features that differentiate it from the previous editions, its key moments are always derived from tradition, such as the Volo dell’Angelo (literally the Flight of the Angel) and the Festa delle Marie (the Feast of the Mary) in the enchanted St Mark’s Square.
