Abano Danza

Abano Danza 2009 celebrates its 20th edition with a rich programme of great talent. The occasion will animate the Padua summer with 7 shows scheduled until 6th August, divided into two separate locations, each reserved for a specific theme: the Teatro Comunale Polivalente is host to Abano Con-Temporary Dance, while the Teatro Comunale Magnolia is home to Abano Summer Ballet.

Two important scenes for a wide prospect ranging from classical ballet to modern dance. The programme opens 14th May with The Simple Companys Goldberg Variations, with dance inspired by spirituality, passion and flair. The 28 May sees the Compagnia Luciano Firi Danza performing Mare Madre, transmitting its effects of light and water; the 11 June plays host to two French companies, (Compagnie Ostinato Claudia Miazzo & Jean Paul Padovani and Compagnia Illico-Thomas Lebrun) and the 25 June sees the Compagnia Sud-Est-Balletto with thier show The Wind under the Door, inspired by the poetry of T. S. Eliot.July the scene moves to the Magnolia: the 9th with Red Ballet (Rbr Dance Company) e Sawn Lake by the Balletto del Teatro Accademico Statale dellOpera e del Balletto; the 23 sees Rudolf Nureyev by Ufa.

The grand finale takes place on the 6th August with an extraordinary Carmen by the Balletto del Sud company.
