We recommend that you book soon your stay in the lagoon.. The Carnival of Venice 2016 dates await you from 23 January to 9 February!

The Carnival of Venice 2016 will be a Carnival with the Venetians, a carnival that will also involve the nearby cities of the mainland, and that will be dedicated to arts, crafts and traditions of the city. The first event entrusted to the artistic direction of Mark Maccapani, the Carnival of Venice 2016 aims to return to the origins, shifting the emphasis from the purely commercial aspects that characterized the latest editions. The Carnival of Venice has always been linked to a sense of freedom and irony, but it is also an important cultural event that attracts thousands of visitors a year to Venice: Mark Maccapani aims to combine these two features to organize a far-reaching event! An event for the people and with the people!

Among other innovations announced by the new artistic director is the absence of the big stage in St Mark's Square, a fixture of the latest editions, where instead it will be possible to see the work of skilled craftsmen of excellence in terms of Venetian art, products and crafts; great return of the now proven event of the Venice Carnival Arsenale, which this year will be divided into three different admission prices.

Marco Maccapani is well worth a presentation as he took David Rampello's place as the artistic director of the Venice Carnival. Marco Maccapani will have the task of creating and co-ordinating the Carnival of Venice 2016, defining the main themes that will follow the new edition of the Venice Carnival. In addition to a respectable curriculum developed especially in fashion, where he distinguished himself as an organizer of major events both in public and private, Marco Maccapani collaborated to organize events and fashion shows for brands like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Gucci and Armani, just to name a few. He is also a television producer and director of movies and video clips for the most important fashion houses worldwide.
