DOC Wine Exhibition

From 26 October 2008 to 09 November 2008

The Euganean Hills lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty: an arcipelago of hills arising in the middle of green plains, a world within itself which contains vast treasures, not least of which are the prestigious wines of the region. In this area the wine-growing tradition dating back to antiquity continues until today, culminating in todays unique flavours, a living record of the history of the region. Each drop of wine contains the passion, toil and memory of the Veneto, riches which the prestigious appellation DOC ensures, thus guaranteeing the quality of the product and providing an assurance of the wines provenance. There are 13 DOC wines of the Euganean Hills carrying the DOC mark of quality: Bianco, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Fior dArancio, Merlot, Moscato, Novello, Pinello, Pinot Bianco, Rosso, the indiginous Serprino, and Tokai Italico. And with great wine goes great food: the authentic lcoal specialities, rustic delicacies such as soups, home-made pasta and risotto, herbs, meat, and products such as honey, oil and wild berries. Each year for 2 weeks Luvigliano hosts the DOC Wine Exhibition, regarded as one of the most important events of its kind in all Italy: a magnificent display of local wines accompanied by the typical foods of the region. In addition to wine and food tastings a programme of events has been arranged to further enrich the occasion, rounded off with a magnificent firework display.
