Fantasy images 2010

From 17 October 2010 to 19 December 2010

A not to-be-missed appointment with the art of children illustrations. Fantasy images is an international exhibition dedicated to this genre that has been taking place for 28 years at the Palazzo Municipale in Sarmede, a suggestive hamlet at the foothills of the Alps in the province of Treviso, and one that gives great visibility to expressions from different parts of the world and the creative experiences of the best well-known illustrators. Three hundred original pieces are presented to the public, with 150 artists from various countries who will narrate the fairytales and traditional legends of their place of origin with highly artistic evocative images: Fantasy images is all this and much more. This years edition will opened on October 16th and have a particular emphasis on Brazil, an enchanted country where nature and rhythm are the driving engine of a reign that is in some ways already touching the confines of fantasy. The section The rhythm of Enchantment Fairytales from Brazil with people, forests and animals as protagonists, will bring in Sarmede, a door into a world that represents at its best the concept of positive vibration, represented by the illustrations of the exhibition in its best form. There will also be a second section dedicated to Beatrice Alemagna, one of the most interesting Italian illustrators in the international scene, where she has encountered widespread acclaim. An illustrator as well as the author of her texts, Alemagna has since childhood cultivated the dream of narration through illustrations. Her touching stories are insightful and profound tales of life and childhood that bring us emotions and move us away from indifference.

Next to the original pieces the exhibition in Sarmede will also display the books published by the authors presented, a unique opportunity to fully appreciate the beauty of children publications otherwise impossible to find in Italy.
