From August 28 to September 7, the Venice Film Festival 2013 will celebrate a major milestone: its 70th edition!

And to celebrate the anniversary, 70 directors were asked to make a short film about freedom of expression. 70thVenice International Film Festival - Future Reloaded: a great collective tribute already defined as one of the most anticipated moments of the Venice Film Festival program in 2013.

Experimentations and new digital technologies will be the guidelines of the films in the competition at the Venice International Film Festival 2013, a journey through the varied proposals of contemporary cinema that promises to be interesting despite the difficulties of an economic crisis that even the film industry is not immune to. To open the 70th Venice Film Festival 2013 will be 'Gravity', the new film by Alfonso Cuaron starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, which had its world premiere in Venice on 28 August in the opening ceremony of the 70th Venice Film Festival.

Four sections - Venezia 70, Horizons, Venice Classics and Out of Competition - three prestigious international judges - chaired by Bernardo Bertolucci, Paul Schrader and Haifaa Al Mansour - and many guests are ready to tread the catwalks of the Venetian red carpet. Under the direction of Alberto Barbera the 70th Venice Film Festival is getting ready to make headlines as one of the greatest achievements in the history of world cinema!

To note the comebacks of the 'Biennale College Cinema' - the workshop open to young filmmakers around the world, for the realization of low-budget films - and the 'Web room', where it will be possible, upon purchase of a separate ticket, to watch the streaming of some screenings in conjunction with the Venice Lido.

As per tradition, there also will be plenty of additional events at the mostra del cinema di Venezia 2013 and the island of Lido will host a series of screenings, meetings, debates and prizes for the entire duration of the 70th Biennale Venice 2013.

The Arena of Campo San Polo will offer different screenings at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi and host the XIV edition of the Circuito Off, the famous Excelsion Hotel will be at the forefront of meetings, workshops and award ceremonies. The opportunities for entertainment at the Biennale Cinema Venezia 2013 will not disappoint anyone!
