International Sand Sculpture Festival

From 19 June 2008 to 20 July 2008

The 11th International Sand Sculpture Festival will be dedicated to China and the Olympic Games.

The Great Wall, the terracotta warriors, pagodas and other symbols of Chinese culture will be among the works of 18 sculptors from all over the world selected by artistic director Richard Varano.

In adition the artists will unite in the creation of 20 sculptures on the theme of sport and the Olympics. The Festival takes places from 19 June at 8.30p.m. until 20 July, opening times 9a.m. to 11p.m.

Free entrance for children under 1 metre in height, disabled, and acompanying adults.

Lido-graphyAn exhibtion of sand artworks by artist PaoloSpiga in conjunction with the Festival.

S CultureEvery evening a programme of dance, music and theatre amidst the seductive settings of the beach, organised by the group Teatro dei Pazzi.
