From the hands and creativity of the best sand sculptors in the world an extraordinary work of art has been created that immediately plunges the spectator into the exciting Christmas atmosphere of the nativity: Jesolo Sand Nativity, a monumental sand nativity set displayed in the renowned and close to Venice sea resort. This event, inaugurated on 8th December and running until 31 January 2012, is now in its tenth edition and still attracts every year Italian and foreign tourists in their thousands who flock to the beautiful Jesolo beach, even in winter, to visit this impressive work, covering an area of 470 square metres and built using 1500 tons of sand.On top of enjoying a very suggestive Christmas ambience, visitors will be able to admire scenes of everyday life and all the traditional activities that are typical of a traditional nativity set. But this is not all, as the nativity set will be enriched by a sculpture traditionally dedicated to peace makers who have made a great contribution towards the spreading of solidarity and harmony amongst people. This years chosen subject has been Baden Powell, the father of scouts.Jesolo Sand Nativity is the perfect occasion to enjoy the magic of Christmas within an unusual winter beach setting and also to demonstrate ones spirit of solidarity that this time of the year should evoke. Despite the free entrance, the generosity of visitors will, in fact, allow for donations to be collected which will be given to humanitarian aid associations.
