Musical dinner at Villa Giustinian

30 April 2009

The Glorious and Harmonious Marches : this famous title of the region could not be more appropriate for this event, the second edition of the Musical Dinner. This cultural and gastronomic event celebrates the world of music as well as of good food in a series of evenings set in some of the Venetos most beautiful villas, starting on the 30th April with the Villa Giustinian di Marocco in Mogliano Veneto, which pays homage to two local talents. The first is the soprano Toti Dal Monte, originally from Mogliano, and founder of the Accademia della Cucina, and one of Toscaninis favourite singers, often referred to in the inter-war period as the girl with the marvellous voice. Honouring her will be Francesco Grollo, internationally-renowned tenor, and Alessia Nadin, mezzosoprano among Riccardo Mutis favourite performers. The dinner will be a tribute to Bepo Maffioli, journalist, actor, writer and icon of gastronomic culture in the region. His famous Il Ghiottone Veneto anaysed and codified the numerous traditional recipies found throughout the area. The menu is created by Davide Gobbo, chef of the villa, in collaboration with Filomeno Salerno, chef of the Relais Monaco restaurant in Ponzano Veneto (TV).The magnificent complex of rthe Villa Guistinian, built in the first half of the 1700s, preserves intact the characteristic villa architecture of the Veneto, and this, together with its connections with the cuisine of the region makes it a sought-after destination.Places are strictly limited, pre-booking obligatory.Cost 60 including wine.Bookings: Villa Marcello Giustinian Via Marignana 45, Marocco di Mogliano Veneto (TV)tel. 39 041/942444Information:Press office PapagenoTel. 39 0422/307153
