In addition to the historic centre of Padua, the beautiful towns of Monselice, Brugine, Piazzola sul Brenta and Luvigliano of Torreglia will also be involved.

From Donatello to Tintoretto - History, art and science in the Renaissance of Padua: these two great masters represent the start and conclusion of the Renaissance in Padua and the Veneto region, a very lively period full of interesting developments in the cultural, scientific and artistic fields.

The bases of Renaissance in Padua are to be found in the work of Andrea Mantegna, who first managed to give a strong impetus to the figurative language bringing Padova amongst the most important European centres of humanism ... The Ovetari Chapel in the Eremitani Church is therefore one of the unmissable stages of the programme of Notturni d'arte Padua Italy!

The Renaissance is considered the golden age of Padua thanks to the remarkable progress in science and arts, made possible by the presence of highly educated academic personalities, great patrons, among which we mention Luigià Cornaro, and confraternities and religious orders who entrusted important artists with the task of decorating churches and schools.

The first botanical Garden in Europe, the first anatomical theatre at the University and the Scientific Revolution in medicine of Andreas Vesalius are just some of the testimonies of the scientific ferment, then continued with the arrival of Galileo Galilei, who lived in Padua between the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century. New civil and defensive building works renewed the face of the city, showing a new interest in classicism and contributing to the formation of the great Andrea Palladio ...
