Vicenza events in 2015 once again offers one of the most pleasant summer events of music in Vicenza in recent years: the musical 'OpeNights' 2015. From 10 July to 7 August, the garden of the Galleries of Palazzo Leoni Montanari will host a series of open air concerts in Italy, with a program richer than ever!

Now in its 4th edition, 'OpeNights 2015 music under the stars' - evening concerts in Vicenza, has become one of the most anticipated summer music concerts in Vicenza and appreciated both by lovers of music and those who want to simply relax with a cool drink, listening to great music live.

OpeNights 2015, organized by the Quartet Society of Vicenza with the collaboration of Intesa Sanpaolo, is inserted into the wider program of Vicenza events planned in the project 'Summer in Vicenza - in the gardens of ideas', sponsored by the city of Vicenza, the Veneto Region, AIM Energy and Consortium Vicenzaè.

The added value of OpeNights - 2015 is undoubtedly its location. A magnificent example of Baroque art of the end the 17th century, the Palazzo Leoni Montanari in Vicenza is home to a renowned museum where important Venetian painting of the 18th century as well as a valuable collection of ancient Russian icons are kept.

The program of open air concerts in Vicenza, Italy includes five open air concerts, Italy of live music of various kinds. The start is on Friday 10 July with the unusual duo of accordionist Thomas Vicentini and the violinist and violist Maria Vicentini: the two talented composers and instrumentalists, stars of modern stage in Verona, will present the show 'Towards West', a musical journey around the world set in the 20th century. Their repertoire, ranging from Jazz to Tango and from Brazilian saudade to lo choro, will be enriched by delicate improvisations of the two musicians.

On Friday 17 July, the charming courtyard of Palazzo Montanari Vicenza will host 'Rock under the stars', an original way of telling the female universe through the greatest hits of singer-songwriters who have made their mark in the music world. The singer Sabrina Turri, accompanied by guitarist Lele Sartori, will propose famous pieces by artists such as Tory Amos, Cyndi Lauper, Sia and Regina Spektor.

On 24 July it will be the turn of one of the most interesting Vicenza concerts in 2015: Saverio Tasca on marimba and the AlterArco string quartet will present 'Walking Man', a series of music written Tasca after a walk on Mount Grappa in the places of the First World War. The musicians will make you discover two worlds: Africa, represented by the sound of the marimba, and Europe characterized by the whiteness of the arches, will merge into a single, harmonious sound. During the concert you will hear three languages: Classic - harmonic and polyphonic; Ethnic - rhythmic and Modern;  improvised - spontaneous and unexpected. The OpeNights 2015 program will continue until Friday 31 July with an evening of classical music. The Polyphonic Vicenza Choir, conducted by Pierluigi Comparin, will present a summer evening concert in Vicenza on the original joyful madrigal, with songs ranging from Luca Marenzio to Claudio Monteverdi. The choir, launched in 1980, has received prestigious awards: seven first prizes for international competitions and concerts and third place at the 12th International Choir Competition in April of 2012 with a special prize for best performance. OpeNights - 2015 edition will end on Friday, 7 August with the concert 'The Broom - A piano in the desert', a kind of musical marathon which will perform 5 of the most talented piano students of the Conservatory of Vicenza.

Openights 2015 this year offers a wide variety of music, cultural and artistic events in Vicenza. Before all the concerts in Vicenza you can attend, by reservation, an interesting guided tour of the temporary exhibition 'The Great War. The wounded places and art', hosted at the Palazzo Leoni Montanari from 3 April to 23 August 2015. More than one hundred works on display represent a valuable record of the participation of Italy in the First World War. Drawings, photographs and paintings of soldier and artists, that witness life on the Italian front line, the daily difficulties of life in the trenches and the devastation of the territories involved in the conflict. The exhibition opens with drawings by Innocent Cantinotti, made between the camps and trenches, and paintings of the popular illustrator for newspapers Achille Beltrami. Followed by the paintings of Italico Brass, in which military manoeuvres are documented, and a section devoted to the humble soldiers, often nameless victims and heroes, with lithographs by Aldo Carpi, Michele Cascella and the aforementioned Cantinotti. The exhibition 'The Great War. The places and the wounded art ', is one of the most popular events in Vicenza today, devoting a section to the damage suffered by artistic venues and major works, specifically from the plaster casts gallery. of Possagno and plaster masterpieces of Antonio Canova. The last part of the exhibition presents an interesting photographic section with the best photos taken in 2013 by Luca Campigotto in the mountainous areas affected by the conflict and that bear visible signs even today.
