Historic parade and competitive regattas along the Grand Canal

As per tradition, the Regata Storica in Venice 2013 will take place on the first Sunday of September along the Grand Canal.

The Regata Stoica 2013 parade is considered the main event of the annual calendar of Venetian rowing. The Historical Regatta of Venice 2013 on September 1, will begin with the historical procession in memory of the glorious past of Venice, when the Republic was one of the most powerful and influential Maritime Republics in the Mediterranean.

Along the Grand Canal, the fascinating parade of boats which opens the Historical Regatta 2013 in Venice, Italy - the route runs from the St Mark's Basin at Constitution Bridge, and back again, stopping in front of Ca' Foscari, the final destination of the Regata Stoica 2013 in Venezia - recalls the ceremony dedicated to Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, on her arrival in Venice after the abdication in favour of the Serenissima. 5.40 pm Regata Storica Caorline in 2013 with six oars
