Ski&Test Drive 2011

From 12 March 2011 to 13 March 2011

In Alto Cadore emotions on and off piste. On 12th and 13th March San Vito di Cadore will host Ski Test & Drive, a great event putting together the excellence in the skiing world with that of food and motors. Soon after the 71st edition of the International Fair of Sport Items and Clothing, held in Munich in Baviera, San Vito di Cadore will be the Italian location that will host the previews of the 2012 models of the best skiing manufacturers and offer the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive trial on the piste. The splendid frame of the Veneto Dolomites will be the background for this special two day event dedicated to winter sports aficionados. Thanks to Cisalfa, the event organizer, on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March San Vito di Cadore will see a true and proper skiing village being built within the Snow and Sun Park. Simply turning up at the stalls and filling in a form will give all visitors the chance to have a free test of 2012 models from Atomic, Elan, Fischer, Head, K2, Nordica, Salomon and Rossignol. But this is not all. For those loving off-road driving, RF MOTO, the CAN AM dealer, will offer the new Outlander 800 Mxr Commander quad bike for those wanting to test it for a drive on the snow and the road. To cap all this fun at the weekend there will also be a special tasting of local produces from the Cadore area: cheeses from alpine shepherd houses, game salamis, traditional cakes, wine and flavoured grappa. For the fans of winter sports and open air fun, the skiing area of Alto Cadore is the ideal choice. The over 16 km of skiing and snowboarding pistes, linked up to the Dolomite Superski, are located in a sunny area and offer a holiday without par. Those instead looking for a more tranquil holiday, the untouched nature of San Vito di Cadore can give moments of great relaxation: long walks and guided excursions on snowshoes will unveil dream places. Many initiatives are also organized for children: descends on coloured lorry tyres, bobsleighs and sledges, ski classes, baby parks and exciting entertainment. Also not to be missed is dog sledging, a thrilling ride on board a sledge pulled by husky dogs.
