From 05 April 2012 to 08 April 2012

It has been ten years since the first show in Italy of the musical Notre Dame de Paris, the modern musical with the splendid music of Riccardo Cocciante that has cast a spell on thousands of spectators across Italy. The figures of Notre Dame de Paris speak for themselves: 842 repeats in 38 cities, a total of two and a half million tickets sold, a hair-raising number of any musical in Italy. In terms of fame and box office returns, Notre Dame de Paris has surpassed any previous musical and made a previously scarcely known genre famous and well appreciated.

The musical, based upon the famed novel Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo, narrates the poignant story of Quasimodo, the hunch-backed bell-ringer of the Notre-Dame cathedral, and his tragic love for the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, who is instead in love with Phoebus, the captain of the Kings guards. His sincere love will bring Quasimodo to follow and help the unfortunate Esmeralda through the perils and injustices of the Medieval Paris, until the tragic end.

The official debut of the musical occurred in September 1998 in Paris, with a production that abandoned the traditional musical representation and instead, brought on stage a half-scenic show where costumed singers intervened only to sing their parts almost in the guise of a concert and alternated with dancers. Since then, Notre Dame de Paris has been met with overwhelming success, to the point that it has been staged in different countries, some of them located outside Europe.

The Italian version of the musical Notre Dame de Paris had its debut in March 2001 in Rome and after a series of successful repeats it began a tour from the Verona Arena also shown live on national RAI1 television.

To celebrate 10 years of success for this extraordinary musical a lengthy tour has been organized for 2011 and 2012 that aims at confirming the success of the previous shows. This tour will bring Notre Dame de Paris back in Jesolo after the 2009 great success with six dates during the Easter festivities. New great voices, already popular with public and critics alike, who are ready to enchant Jesolo with their interpretation of the magic and emotions of Quasimodos love for the beautiful Esmeralda.
