Because one of the most anticipated cycling events in Italy, the legendary Prosecco Cycling Race 2016, will take place! The gf Prosecco Cycling represents an original way to introduce the enchanting territory of Treviso, renowned for its beautiful vineyards and the production of Prosecco.

Due to its charm, the whole area of hilly foothills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene is a candidate to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the beautiful scenery combined with artistic, historical, cultural and gastronomic delights, make it one of the most interesting and appreciated places in Italy.

Founded in 2004 with the aim of promoting the areas producing Prosecco in Treviso, the Prosecco Cycling Marathon achieved immediate acclaim. Year after year, the competition has become one of the most anticipated sporting events in Veneto and in Italy, as well as being a strong attraction for tourism throughout the province. This is the very reason why, in 2010, the Prosecco Cycling race gained the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and the patronage of the President of the Republic.

The number of participants confirms the resounding success of the event: the gf Prosecco Cycling Classic Valdobbiadene tv is gradually increasing the number of enrolments, continuing to confirm itself as one of the ten most attended cycling events of the entire season.

Beloved by the Italian public, the Valdobbiadene cycling race is conquering the hearts of foreign fans ... The Prosecco Cycling Valdobbiadene 2016 has already many international registrations!

The success at the international level of the Prosecco Cycling Valdobbiadene - one of the most popular cycling races in Italy - is the result of a major effort of sales promotion made possible thanks to the support of numerous partner companies. Over the years, they have continued to give their valuable contribution despite the economic difficulties that have long beset our country.

Let's have a look at the program of the gf Prosecco Cycling Classic 2016: the real race will be on Sunday 2 October at the end of a weekend full of entertainment and wine tasting... made with Prosecco!

The first new feature of the Valdobbiadene Cycling Classic 2016 is revolutionizing the way races took place in the past: this year you will ride with and for the team! The final ranking of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Cycling Classic 2016, in fact, will award the most compact and tight-knit team, which has managed to show unity along the entire course and crossed the finish line with the highest number of riders in the space of thirty seconds. The top five ranked teams will bring home a rich supply of Prosecco!

The new race format will not entirely eliminate the competitive spirit of the Prosecco Cycling Classic Valdobbiadene: three sections of the route will be timed - 52 km, Muro Ca 'del Poggio (850 m with an average gradient of 13.4%); 60 km, via dei Colli (650 m with an average gradient of 11.4%); km 67, Collalto (1850 m with an average gradient of 6.8%) - and the sum of the three times achieved by each participant will determine the final standings, taking into account the age categories of Acsi Ciclismo. Besides the overall time of the race, participants will then be able to establish their absolute and category standings according to the sum of their times in the three timed sections, and their absolute and category standings for each single timed stage. The second feature of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Cycling 2016 is the 'kilometer 0' ranking, open only to the residents of the Treviso province, an original initiative to make the participation of local residents special.

The route of the Prosecco Cycling 2016 will be unique and also provide a course suitable to those less trained. The spectacular route of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Cycling 2016 is 95 kilometres long and characterized by a drop of about 1,600 metres. Once started from Valdobbiadene, the athletes will touch the picturesque town of Combai, Pieve di Soligo and Follina, then continuing towards Vittorio Veneto up to Cozzuolo. Then the athletes will cross San Pietro di Feletto, Conegliano and Collalto. Returning to Valdobbiadene, the cycling group will head towards Guia and Follo, where the vineyards Cartizze offer an attractive setting.

The Prosecco Cycling 2016 route is not expected to be particularly hard ... with the exception of the Muro Ca' del Poggio timed section, where cyclists will anyway be able to replenish their energy with a special snack of prawns and Prosecco.

The excellent organization and safety of the track, have always characterized the Prosecco Cycling of Valdobbiadene, one of the most anticipated Treviso cycling events: more than 300 volunteers from the Civil Protection will work to ensure safety during the event!

Curiosity: what is the meaning of the logo of the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Cycling Classic? The five letters 'C' arranged concentrically, are the initials of the words Cycling, Colline (Hills), Chalice, Circuit and Cuore (Heart), the main elements of the event. Why five? There are many reasons that led to the choice of this number: the Olympic rings, the fingers of one hand, the continents and the elements of Ayurveda (earth, air, fire, water and heavens/sky).

The black line in the logo is not an interruption of the circle but, on the contrary, it represents the strong bond along the course, a bridge that completes the circuit. The logo as the race: a project to explore!
