The Eugeanean hills: an isolated archipelago of hills rising in the middle of the Veneto plain, a world in itself which houses some of the best treasures of the region, among which may be counted the optimum wine produced here.The local Wine Week, scheduled for the 18th to 25th May, presents the perfect occasion to explore the immense riches of the Eugenean area, as much for residents as for tourists. There are numerous restaurants and farms taking part in the programme, offering special menus and tastings, as well as three events aimed exclusively at further enriching the experience. On foot, by bike or by car. A team game where the treasures are the Eugenean Hills themselves: a quiz revolving around the historic cities, museums and natural parks, and along the farms and vineyards associated with the Strada del Vino. Entrance fee 15 per person (registration by Friday 16 May). Open Doors 25 May
This traditional event sees 27 wine shops throughout the hills opening their doors for tastings. The wine shops, associated with the Strada del Vino, theWine Consortium DOC and the Wine Tourism Initiative guide you through the flavours of the Paduan tradition. In addition to wine tastings other products will be offered, among which the sweet cured ham of Montagnana, cheeses, and other typical rustic cuisine. An event organised in collaboration with the Cycle Friends Padua and the Municipal Tourist Board of Due Carrare, which leads along the Strada del Vino through Montegrotto, Battaglia, Monselice and Due Carrare.Departure and arrival point will be at Montegrotto. The route, easily accessible by all, also takes in food and wine stops in historic villages, villas and amidst the most picturesque areas of natural beauty in the hills. Registration fee 20 .
