A unique private guided tour of the Riviera del Brenta Villas to discover the elegance and richness of a forgotten era. Thanks to this fascinating Brenta River tour of the Villas of Veneto you can visit three prestigious residences of ancient times accompanied by our tour guide Francesca Ranieri.

Our fascinating Riviera del Brenta tour of the Villas in Veneto, Italy will take you back to the Venetian Republic times, when the holidays were spent in the Venice villas! Starting from the 1500s, the rich and noble Venetians spent the summer months on the mainland to follow the agricultural work being undertaken on their land. Not wanting to give up the luxury and refinement that characterized their palaces on the Grand Canal, beautiful Brenta River Villas were built. The Brenta River itinerary that we propose takes into account some of the most beautiful Villas of Veneto open to the public to give you all the magic and charm of these princely mansions decorated by the best artists of the Venice Republic. Francesca is a licensed guide in Venice, who has collaborated with venetoinside.com for a long period overseeing the heading 'Hidden Treasures' and some of our private tours in Venice, and she will be your ‘private guide' for this exclusive tour of the Brenta Villas.

The visit to the Villas of Veneto is concentrated in the area between Malcontenta and Stra, where the most beautiful and famous villas are located. Departing from Venice, our Riviera del Brenta in Venice tour sails along the Brenta Canal, allowing you to admire the beautiful homes that have made this area a unique place in the world. The proposed itinerary below is only indicative and may be customized according to your requirements, including other villas not you would like to visit.

The first stage is one of the finest Palladian Villas in Veneto, Italy: Villa Foscari – la Malcontenta, by Palladio in Malcontenta. Built by one of the most important families of the Venetian Republic and designed by the famous architect Palladio, Villa Foscari – la Malcontenta should not be missed! In this enchanting place art and nature blend perfectly. It is claimed that a girl of the Foscari family was locked up here for life for her misconduct, hence the nickname the 'discontented' Palladian villa.

After the splendid Villa Foscari known as 'the Malcontenta', the Riviera del Brenta tour continues to Villa Widmann in Mira, one of the most beautiful and best preserved villas of the Brenta River in Venice. At Villa Widmann the tour will wind through its beautiful interiors - the halls boast 18th century colourful frescoes which perfectly harmonize with gilded plaster castings and precious chandeliers in Murano glass, its lush gardens full of vegetation and divine classical statues give the Villa Widmann on the Riviera del Brenta a fabulous atmosphere.

Lunch will take place in one of the tasty restaurants along the Brenta River in Venice, where you can sample local specialties and relax and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings.

In the afternoon, the tour will finish with the jewel of the Riviera del Brenta Villas - la Stra, Villa Pisani will introduce you into the atmosphere of a real palace! At the Villa Pisani in Stra the guided tour passes through an endless series of exhibitions and atmospheres before concluding with the most famous destination of the Villa Pisani, a maze in the lush garden.

This exclusive Venetian Villas tour by the Brenta River in Venice takes place on land, by arrangement based on the number of participants.
