This, in a nutshell, is the program of our fascinating half day boat excursion to Murano and Burano from Venice!

Among our many boat tours to the Venice islands we now offer a proposal that includes only Murano and Burano, a tour of the most famous Venetian islands, to explore them freely and with more time compared to the traditional Half day excursion to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello thanks to longer stops!

The Half-day excursion to Murano and Burano has a variable duration (4 hours / 4 hours and 30 minutes) based on the number of participants and resulting type of vessel used. To take part in the tour it is necessary to arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before the departure time shown on the voucher; as it is a short walk to reach the boat.

During the visit to Murano and Burano you will be given some explanations about the lagoon and the islands - explanations, are multilingual, and made with the microphone on the boat. The tour is collective and to avoid inconvenience to other participants, please respect the time deadlines provided by the organizers at the end of each stop, as departure will take place without waiting for any latecomers! We advise you to take note of the schedules provided on board and to respect them!

Located north of the historic centre of Venice, Murano and Burano offer beautiful handicrafts that have made them famous worldwide: the first is characterized by the centuries-old glass manufacturing, the second for its sophisticated lace, not to mention the original colourful buildings. Visiting Murano and Burano will give you the most authentic and unusual side of Venice!

During this fascinating tour you will discover the best of Murano and Burano, what to visit, their traditions and the most special places, on a relaxing boat while enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Venetian lagoon.

To help you fully appreciate the simplicity and the calm that characterizes Murano and Burano, the visit includes only two stops, which lasts about an hour for each island: Murano- includes a trip to a Murano glass factory and you can watch a demonstration of the art of glass blowing. If you do not want to, then just inform the personnel on board and you can walk around the island in total autonomy; the stop in Burano (for approx. 1 and a half hours)- is almost entirely free: after an optional visit, to a traditional store of lace store, you can visit the island, have lunch, buy local products or simply relax before returning to the boat for the return trip to Venice .

The first stop of the boat ride from Venice to Murano and Burano will include the homeland of glass: the old Murano glassworks guard secrets that have been handed down from generation to generation. The Venice boat trip to Murano will allow you to have the opportunity to purchase original and unique beautiful works of glass art, with the certainty of it being an authentic piece!

The visit to Murano and Burano will then continue on to the island of Burano, where you can stroll through unique streets of brightly coloured houses and discover the small masterpieces of lace made by expert teachers on the island.

With this boat tour to the Venice Islands you will be visiting Murano and Burano on a covered deck boat. The trip to Murano and Burano will also take place in case of rain, unless there are extraordinary conditions that could compromise a safe navigation - departing from the pier in front of the Danieli Hotel, a few steps from St Mark's Square.

If you are wondering why to choose this particular boat trip to the Venice islands amongst the numerous tours on offer for the lagoon online, the answer is simple! This unusual Murano and Burano island Venice tour combines a limited duration, less than five hours, to the opportunity to discover the two most famous islands of Venice while enjoying the enchanting Venetian lagoon...

Visiting Murano and Burano: a tour among the colours, the sounds and the traditions of a Venice of the past.

Half-day excursion to Murano and Burano Islands

The Murano/Burano tour is a must, and one of the best values in Venice.

Great mix of water and land. Loved Burano in particular, as well as the lagoon tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

I would have liked to see more of Murano and the glassblowing process.

Dear TLR,

we are pleased you appreciated the tour! As for the lack of time in Murano, please consider that this tour offers an overview of Venetian islands… Visiting 3 islands in approx. 4 hours necessarily implies brief stops in each of them! Next time, if you wish to have a more complete experience, we suggest you to book one of our private boat tours – they guarantee more freedom in terms of stops and times – or to visit the island on your own: Murano is just a short distance from Venice, easily reach by vaporetto!

Best regards,
The venetoinside.com staff

'Boat trip'

Half-day excursion to Murano and Burano Islands

Lovely islands but not enough time on them to really enjoy the experience. Felt rushed and had less time on Burranno than promised. Guide rushed commentary and we couldn't always hear what she was saying.

Beautiful islands that we would have liked more time on.

Guide spoke too quickly, not always comprehensible. Time cut on Burranno.

Dear Travcats,

we are sorry you were not completely satisfied with our tour! Please consider that, on the tour description published online, we make clear that this tour is recommended for those wishing to have an overview of Venetian Islands without stealing too much time to the visit of Venice itself… Visiting 3 islands in 4 hours necessarily implies a limited duration of the stops! As for the guide explanations, we are sorry you had difficulties in understanding what she was saying… Maybe you just had to ask her to speak slowlier or to repeat the part of the explanations you had missed: we are sure she would have been pleased to meet your requests! Next time, if you are interested in a more complete visit to the islands, we suggest you to have a look at our Boat tours sectiontext or to purchase Venice travel cards and visit the islands freely.

Best regards,
The venetoinside.com staff

'Fun tour!'

Half-day excursion to Murano and Burano Islands

We really enjoyed the boat tour! It was a great ride and the glass making demonstration was very interesting. I only wish we could have stayed longer on each island.

Speaking multiple languages!

Not long enough to visit the islands.
