The Historical Regatta of Venice gathers each year on the first Sunday of September, for a day of sport and folklore. Keep in mind that this is not a usual gondola ride: during special events, such as the Historical Regatta, heavy restrictions on water traffic are imposed and, consequently, the gondola will not be able to navigate freely or stand always in the shade or in the points you prefer. The gondolas can only proceed on the sides of the Grand Canal, with the obligation to pull over and stop as not to hinder the passage of the races. The gondolier will choose the most suitable route for you to see the event at its best, in compliance with the rules: you will not have to do anything but relax and enjoy the unparalleled spectacle of dozens of boats that parade in front of you!
The duration of this special Historical Regatta Venice tour is about 1 hour and 30 minutes: you must present yourself at the gondola pier S. Moisè, located in Calle Larga XXII Marzo near the Bauer Hotel at 3.45pm; here the staff will check your voucher and will accommodate you to the gondolas. The gondola ride will start at 4pm and end at 5.30pm with the return to the departure gondola pier. The gondola is private, and therefore at your complete disposal for the whole tour, and can accommodate up to 6 people. Before booking, please be advised that it is compulsory to print a paper copy of the voucher issued at the end of the online reservation and bring it with you the day of the tour.
No credit or refunds will be given in the case of a NO SHOW (if you don't show up at the meeting point at the time indicated on your voucher).
PLEASE NOTE that the tour will start at approx. 4.00 pm, but you need to show up at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before (at 3.45 pm), you must present the paper voucher that you will receive at the end of the booking.
We would like to remind you that this is not a usual gondola ride: the gondolier will choose the most suitable route for you to see the best event, in compliance with the rules established on the occasion of special events, such as the Historical Regatta.
