At the foot of the imposing Catajo castle, a narrow road winds down to the Strada Adriatica, leading into a distinguished rural homestead, where the buildings are witness to the Salvan family's ancient adherence to the land, and to a farming vocation. Vineyards surround the premises of the cellar.
Here we find the Cantina Salvan, Due Carrare winery, where, in the shadow of Catajo castle, Cabernet and Merlot wines are produced according to the best tradtitions of the Euganean Hills. An old legend explanis the name of the area: 'Pigozzo' - picchio in local dialect, which has been adopted as the characteristic symbol of the winery.
An abundant land especially suited for red grapes leads to Merlot, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, fruity and harmonious which warm the heart and invigorate the spirit - unmissable during a visit to the winery. A farming area set in the unspoilt nature of the Euganean Hills and its monuments unique to the history of the Veneto.
If you are in the mood to unwind, to harmonise with the gradual progression of the seasons, to immerse yourself in the history of the area with a good glass of vine - experienced from its first growth on the vines to the first drops from the bottle - come and visit the winery and enjoy the surrounding countryside, the hills and castle.

- Cabernet Franc: tipical of the cabernet franc grapes, this wine has a herbaceous aroma that reminds us of fresh grass and green peppers. This makes it a perfect companion for grilled pork or just some salami, for a cheerful easy moment with friends.
- Merlot Riserva: this Merlot-wine comes from wineyards where the production is kept low, so that the grapes are much richer in flavour and in quality. It matures for at least one year in oak barrels. The taste is ripe, full and rounded. Ideal with Parmesan cheese.
- Colli Euganei Cabernet Sauvignon 'San Marco': this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from the best vintages, it's allowed to matured in small oak casks. You can feel the spicy aroma coming from the aging oak. It goes very well together with lamb or mature sheep cheese.
- Rosso 'Oltre il limite... e altro': this wine is produced only in excellent years from best wineyards Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The result is harmonious, rich and complex in aroma, so that every time you taste it you can find different flavours and feel new emotions.
