From November 16th to 19th 2018, Arte Padova, the acclaimed Modern and Contemporary Art Fair in Padua, Italy is back for its 29th edition!

Housed in the exhibition pavilions 1-7-8 at Padova Fiere, Arte Padova 2018 is one of the most anticipated art fairs in Italy, an event attracting visitors from all over the world and reinventing itself every year to offer the best of the best, both on a national and on an international level.

With more than 300 exhibitors and over 15.000 works on display in roughly 28.000 square metres, the art fair in Padua is an unmissable event for professionals, investors, collectors and enthusiasts. ArtePadova owes its great success to its ability to combine the market of modern and contemporary art through a selection of the best Italian and international brands: from Futurism to Informal, from Art Zero to Pop Art, Conceptual Art and Arte Povera, presenting something for all tastes!

In its past editions, Arte Padova Fiera has successfully established itself as an important showcase for new market trends. This is right where the Japanese avant-garde group Gutai was launched and Masters of Estroflessione such as Giuseppe Amadio, Agostino Bonalumi, Turi Simeti and Enrico Castellani have been promoted, all exhibiting at Arte Padova 2018 with a shortlist of works. In addition to giving visibility to established artists, the Art Fair at Padova Fiere also pays great attention to emerging talents with a section dedicated to them, the Contemporary Art Talent Show.

A rich calendar of conferences, meetings and live performances will contribute to offering an all-encompassing overview of the modern and contemporary art scene.

  • Modern and Contemporary Art
As with past editions, exhibitors at Art Padova - selected amongst the best Italian and foreign artists and the most renowned Italian art galleries - will display great works of art, ranging from established figures to innovative experimentations and present day works, such as videos, live performances and installations. At the Padua art trade show, visitors can immerse themselves in various visual itineraries ranging from Italian art of the 20th century - featuring artists such as Arnaldo Pomodoro, Mimmo Rotella, Mario Schifano, Lucio Fontana, Achille Perilli, Franco Angeli, Piero Manzoni, Mario Sironi, Tano Festa, Agostino Bonalumi, Emilio Isgrò, Carla Accardi, Michelangelo Pistoletto and the phenomenal Alighiero Boetti – through to the so-called 'blue ocean' of the market, with names such as Paolo Cotani, Beatrice Gallori and Tino Stefanoni, just to name a few.
  • Contemporary Art Talent Show
The Art Under 5000 project is open only to galleries, associations and artists displaying artwork valued at less than €5000. The aims of this original project, presented as part of Padua art fair 2018 range from harnessing the work of emerging artists and helping them reach a wider audience, to stimulating the market by offering works at affordable prices and promoting new venues to allow all artistic expressions to have their works recognized. Associations, independent and group artists, who aim to establish themselves in the art market, will find space in large areas of the Padua Italy Art Fair 2018, a sort of large creative workshop with installations, laboratories, sculptures, workshops and performances dedicated to new expressive languages where visitors can buy an original piece at a low price. In parallel with the contemporary art fair in Padua, ArtePadova will also stage the C.A.T.S. Award, given to young talented artists exhibiting at the art fair in Padua: a high-quality jury will be asked to evaluate the exhibited works by choosing the 10 finalists, among which the first 4 classified will be chosen to receive recognition and a cash prize.
  • Works Under 500 - Works that cost less than €500
To encourage the purchase by young people and with the broad objective of bringing the public closer to the art market, Arte Padova decided to give more visibility to the works with a more affordable price, less than €500. This affordable art at the Fair in Italy, marked with a specific identification, will be exhibited in Pavillion 1.
  • Banca Mediolanum Award - 2nd edition
Aimed at the enhancement and promotion of emerging artists, it is open to all artists who are already participating in the C.A.T. Award. The works, one per artist, will be on display in a dedicated area marked with a specific caption. The winner will receive a prize worth €1000.
  • Arte Padova Expo Libri
Books have featured prominently at the Art Fair in Padua, Italy, since the establishment in 2013 of the fair dedicated to books and publishing with the aim to promote book publishing in the North East of Italy. An event featuring entertainment, knowledge and culture, Expo Libri is a way of conceiving the book as a true art form. The choice of staging the Expo during the Modern and Contemporary Art fair in Padua will allow its receptive and reading-inclined visitors to come into direct contact with the publishing world, thanks also to conferences and talks with the publishers who will promote well-known authors but also emerging and talented young ones. The Fiera Arte Padova 2018 conference room will recreate the atmosphere of a real literary cafe, an intimate area set up by the best design companies in Padua.

From 16th to 19th November, do not miss one of the longest running art trade shows in Italy: the Modern and Contemporary Art fair in Padua is waiting for you!
