Asiago2012 Light Flakes
From 03 February 2012 to 05 February 2012

The main aim of the exhibition is to offer an opportunity for cultural enrichment, thanks to the comparisons of the different representations of fireworks displays to the rhythm of music. The peculiarity and staging of the exhibition lie in the pairing of music and the art of fireworks during which colours, sounds and light effects must adhere, but mainly enhance, the sensations and feelings that music itself stirs in the audience. From the moment the show starts the audience is transferred in to an almost unreal dimension, where the only sounds are the musical notes diffused by the speakers and the roars of the fireworks that embrace the notes in the background following their cadence. The fireworks effects are launched without pausing, in timing with the music and giving rise to particularly suggestive and charming scenes.
A very original exhibition that is perfectly in tune with the surrounding environment, assuring the spectators unforgettable moments. The exhibition takes place in the town of Asiago, located on a mountain plateau at 1000 metres above sea level and surrounded by mountain ranges with peaks towering above 2000 metres covered in dense forests.
The shows programme is divided in three evenings: the opening night on Friday 3 February will take place at the Romeo Sartori airport, from 9pm with music and entertainment until 10pm, when the first firework display will start. Saturday 4 the show will move to the Linta grounds in conjunction with Kopa Karukola, the traditional masque ski race, which originated in the 60s as a parody of the Kurikkala Cup ski competition and augmented with the tricks of ski instructors and ski jumpers. Sunday 5 will stage the grand finale back at the Romeo Sartori airport with the same programme of the opening night but adorned, after the Asiago2012 light flakes cup has been awarded to the best display, with an extra firework display to end the exhibition.
The audience will choose the winner and forms will be given out during the three nights for the voting. Alternatively, they can express their preference online on the website www.asiago.to. Prize giving will take place after the final vote counting.
Additionally, for those passionate about photography, this year sees a rerun of the Focus contest, which will award the best three photographs taken during the fireworks display.
