From 14 June 2014 to 24 August 2014
The wait for the new Venice photo exhibition 2014 is about to end... On Saturday, June 14 'Cham. The ritual dances of Tibet', opens to the public. The Tibet exhibition in Venice is one of the most spectacular exhibitions at the Civic Museum of Natural History in Venice planned for the current year.
Until 24 August this unprecedented Tibet exhibition in Venice offers the opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating and least known sides of Tibetan culture, the sacred dance or Cham, via the beautiful photographs of Giampiero Mattolin.
The Tibet photo gallery in Venice wants to introduce the visitor to the vast universe of Buddhist culture, the Natural History Museum in Venice exhibition focuses on one of the most symbolic of this vast and complex reality: the extraordinary ritual dances that are performed in the Himalayan monasteries of the Tibetan-Buddhist culture.
Thanks to the interaction between photographs and text, the photo exhibition in Venice on Tibet tells the magic and the deep meaning of these dances that combine ritual songs, movements and meditation. The Tibet exhibition in Venice at the Natural History Museum will be divided into several chapters that represent the eight main topics analyzed by the authors: the dance of the mind, what a Cham is, where when and why, dancers, costumes and masks, the characters, music and monastic orchestra and the public of the ritual dances.
The Venice photo exhibition on Tibet continues the collaboration of the Civic Museum of Natural History in Venice with the journalist Piero Verni and the photographer Giampietro Mattolin which began in 2013 with the presentation of the book 'Lung Ta Universi Tibetani- Tibetan Universes'.
Venice exhibit 2014 of 'Cham. The ritual dances of Tibet' is open at the Natural History Museum in Venice: tickets - full price €9.00; reduced €6.50.
