One of the best live bands at the moment comes to Paduas Palasport on the 25th February: the Dave Matthews Band. One of only three Italian dates on their current tour the others being in Rome and Milan the band serve up their own brand of excitement, drawing on both old and new material. Their last album, "Big whiskey and the GrooGrux King, went straight to number one in the US charts, and has sold over 420,000 copies. Critics hailed it as their best yet. The band comprises frontman Dave Matthews (guitar and vocals Stefan Lessare (bass Boyd Tinsley (violin) and Carter Beaufort (drums)augmented by Jeff Coffin (sax Tim Reynolds (guitar) and Rashawn Ross (trombone).
Foremd in 1991 in Charlottesville, the Dave Matthews Band came to prominence with their debut LP Remember two things in1993, immediately becoming a classic.
Under the table and dreaming from1994, and Crash, del 1996, continued thier success, imcluding such tracks as "What you would say", "Ants marching", "Crash into me" and "Too much". With 1997s Before these crowded streets, and A Listener supported of99, the band reinforced ist image as a jam band, able to fuse several diverse genres into a harmonious whole.
After the further success of Busted stuff in 2002, and Stand up the latest offering came out this year.
