It is less than a month to one of the most important Dolomites ski races in 2014: the Granfondo Dobbiaco Cortina, and one of the largest cross-country ski races in Italy in Veneto, returns on 8 and 9 February!
Since 1977, the historic Dobbiaco Cortina ski marathon takes place annually in one of the most enchanting areas of the Dolomites.
Now in its 37th edition, the Cortina Dobbiaco cross country ski marathon 2014 will be held as usual along the route of the old railway connecting Cortina d'Ampezzo with Alta Pusteria. The Cortina Dobbiaco trail is considered one of the most prestigious cross country skiing races in Italy. Each year the Dobbiaco Cortina Gara di fondo attracts athletes and enthusiasts for a weekend of sports and entertainment.
The Dobbiaco Cortina ski race Marathon will take place on Saturday 8 - 30 km free technique - and on Sunday 9 with the classic technique marathon 42 km long. Two very distinct and exciting races in Dobbiaco Cortina of sci da fondo during which participants can test their strength and skill in the Dolomites.
On Saturday the departure takes place from the sports facilities of Fiames in Cortina d'Ampezzo, and finishes at the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco-Toblach. On Sunday the route is reversed with the departure from Dobbiaco and ends under the bell tower of Cortina d'Ampezzo. One can take part in both of the Dobbiaco Cortina races and in the combined classification.
Online registration for the Cortina-Dobbiaco and Dobbiaco-Cortina 2014 races are open until February 6! However, those who register before 17 January 2014 will receive a personalized bib.
