There is growing expectation for this historic cross-country skiing marathon, this year in its 35th edition. The Cortina Dobbiaco is rightly regarded as one of the most prestigious international long-distance skiing races and has always had the merit of attracting professional and amateur athletes for two days of genuine sporting emotions. Once known as folks marches due to the fact that participants enjoyed the opportunity to exercise in splendid natural settings and share this experience with others, these events still offer nowadays fantastic moments of companionship. The competition sees two separate sections with different procedures: on the first day the skate skiing competition will take place over a 30 km track starting in Cortina and arrival in Dobbiaco. The second and closing day is dedicated to the classic style race over a 42 km track starting in Dobbiaco and arrival in the town centre of Cortina. This happening has not lost its appeal to the public, and has seen the numbers of its participants increase considerably in the last few decades. The appeal generated by this race is not simply due to its competing purpose, but also to the collateral events, which are regularly organized to involve adults and children every year with new and original initiatives. There is no better occasion to spend a day on the snow in the Dolomites and to go cross-country skiing surrounded by enchanting sceneries!
