Jesolo Sand Nativity 2013
From 07 December 2013 to 02 February 2014
Among theJesolo events 2013 we cannot fail to mention the amazingSand Sculpture Festival at Jesolo from 7 December to 2 February 2014.
The Jesolo Sand Nativity 2013 will be set up as usual in the imposing structure of Marconi Square. The charming sand art nativity is now celebrating its 12th edition and is one of the most striking Jesolo events 2013 of Christmas combining wit and magic in a truly unique sand sculpting festival!
From year to year, famous international sculptors contribute to the creation of the wonderful Jesolo sand nativity: the passion and creativity of these great artists have made this original sand nativity in Jesolo at Christmas famous throughout Italy.
In each edition of the Jesolo international sand sculpture festival, there is a sculpture dedicated to a 'peace witness' or to a person who has devoted their life to peace: Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Pope John XXIII and Mother Teresa of Calcutta were among the protagonists of previous editions of the sand nativity scenes in Jesolo. For the sand nativity in Jesolo 2013 St. Francis of Assisi has been chosen.
Shepherds, sheep and bustling markets: the daily life of an ancient Bethlehem brought back to life in the Jesolo sand sculpture festival 2013, where famous artists work side by side with the students of the High School M. Guggenheim to create life-size nativity sand art sculptures of sand on the theme of the Holy Nativity.
The Sand Nativity 2013 will be enriched by the spectacular scenery by Damon Farmer, who will give colour and depth to these amazing sand creations at the Jesolo sand festival.
Since 2004 Jesolo Sand Sculpture competition has been connected to charitable organisations and generous donations from visitors help numerous charities.
In Jesolo, the sand sculpture festival of sand nativity at Christmas will not be the only event: on the ice rink in Mazzini Square shows, concerts, markets and many other events are waiting for you!
