Leonardo Da Vinci Luomo universale
From 29 August 2013 to 01 December 2013
Considered one of the biggest Venice events 2013, from 29 August to 1 December one of those occasions that happen only once in life will be on offer; a world renowned event dedicated to the greatest genius of the Italian Renaissance.
The Leonardo da Vinci Exhibition in Venice at the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, Italy will offer a broad overview of the works of Leonardo Da Vinci: studies of proportions, botany, architecture, physics, mechanics, weapons, preparatory drawings and testimonials... a rare opportunity to get closer to his eclectic and brilliant mind.
For the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit in Venice the entire collection of original sheets kept in the Cabinet of Drawings of the Gallerie dell'Accademia will be on show, the largest Italian fund documenting the artistic production and scientific research of the artist between 1478 and 1516: 25 stunning graphic works that will be on display in a special mostra Leonardo da vinci in Venezia.
This unprecedented Venice Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition is easily explained: the works and projects at the Gallerie dell'Accademia by Leonardo Da Vinci are kept in complete darkness in a special air-conditioned vault and can only be exposed for limited periods of time every three or four decades... the last exposure dates back more than thirty years ago!In addition, to the valuable collection of the Leonardo da Vinci paintings in Venice another 27 sheets will be added from some of the most prestigious national and international institutions, including the Uffizi in Florence, the Royal Library of Turin, the Muse du Louvre, the British Museum London and the Royal collection at Windsor Castle. Among the mostra of Leonardo Da Vinci in Venezia 2013 the famous study known as the 'Vitruvian Man', in particular will stand out and also the so-called 'sheet theme' (foglio tema) of the Royal Collection at Windsor - an emblem of Leonardos language, who was able to present on a single sheet different ideas that were taking shape in his mind - the preparatory drawings of the famous Battle of Anghiari, painted for the Salone dei Cinquecento in Florence and his projects as a military engineer, including a real prototype of a tank.
Leonardo Da Vinci in Venice will also be presented as an organizer of parties and events at the courts, an aspect of the master still not very well known and investigated at the Gallerie dell'Accademia Venezia mostre to give visitors a complete understanding on his extraordinary work.
The vast body of works and projects - at least 52 - that can be seen at the Academy Galleries will give rise to one of the most complete and fascinating mostra of Leonardo Da Vinci in 2013: a completion of the project 'Leonardo Da Vinci - The universal man' will be presented about a dozen volumes in the original release - historical sources on Leonardo Da Vinci - the works of his students and a few engravings.
