Open Wineries 2012: a weekend of fabulous tastings with DiVino Sognar

The aim of Wine Tourism Movement is to expand the appreciation of wine by promoting visits to the most renowned wineries in Italy and their range of activities and products. To get also those outside Italy acquainted with wine and its values, the Wine Tourism Movement aims at involving, through Open Wineries, additional countries where wine making has strong roots. Open Wineries is usually held on the last Sunday in May and is considered by aficionados and connoisseurs as the most important event to appreciate wine in those places where it is made the wineries. A few initiatives of Open Wineries will start on Saturday 26th, but it will only be on Sunday 27th May that wineries will reveal their secrets by guiding visitors through tastings, initiatives, exhibitions and excursions. Veneto the land where some of the best wines of Italy are made will open the wineries of the most renowned production areas: Colli di Conegliano, Soave, Valdobbiadene, Montello, Piave, Valpolicella and many more. The Wine Tourism Movement has proposed a slogan for the 20th edition of Open Wineries in Veneto: DiVino Sognar, a theme that emphasizes the discovery of the scenes, scents and flavours linked to the wine and wineries of Veneto, but also the imaginations and pleasures that good wine rouses. Several itineraries in the whole of Veneto, gatherings and tastings, accompanied by the most genuine produces of Veneto, for a weekend in the name of the best productions of wine in Veneto, a real national heritage that must be promoted and celebrated.
