In Piazzola Sul Brenta, the events of 2015 include the second edition of the Biennale Scultura 'In land, water and air'. From 24th April to 28th October 2015, 50 artists from around the world will exhibit their works of art in the splendid Villa Contarini in Padova.
The festival, one of the most interesting exhibitions in Padua in recent years, was launched in 2013 when, speaking of the famous market of Piazzola sul Brenta, sculptors Giuseppe Pin (curator of the exhibition) and Elio Armano had the idea to enrich the event with an exhibition of contemporary sculptures related to one of the elements that characterizes Piazzola sul Brenta: water. The idea was to present their work in new areas and see them float on the water or in the air was liked very much by the artists involved and everybody enthusiastically joined the initiative.
The first edition of this event in Piazzola sul Brenta was attended by 15 artists with 32 works. It was a great success and turned out to be one of the most popular events in Piazzola sul Brenta of the year. With the aim of enhancing the area, the Municipality of Piazzola sul Brenta, the Department of Culture of the Region of Veneto and the Pro Loco promoted the second edition of the Biennale of Scultura in Padova in Piazzola sul Brenta, as part of the rich calendar of Exhibitions in Padova 2015. More than 80 sculptures will be exhibited at the Villa Contarni in Padova, Italy not only along the waters of the canals and in the parterre of the Villa, but also in public areas adjacent to the square and the streets of the historic centre of the city where the closed shops will offer their spaces to the temporary galleries.
'In land, water and air', one of the most anticipated Piazzola sul Brenta events in 2015, will host the sculptures of 50 Italian and foreign artists of international renown such as Alessandra Bonoli, Giulio Cadiusso with the works Untitled 1 and 2', Franco Repetto, Annamaria Gelmi, Alberto Timossi, Brunivo Buttarelli, Igino Legnaghi, Alessandro Pellegrinetti, Vinicio Momoli, Marco Milia and Eloisa Gobbo.
The exhibition of this fascinating contemporary art Biennale di Scultura exhibition in 2015 will take the viewer through environmental installations and sculptures some of which are 10 metres high, to the discovery of the complex world of contemporary art. Classical sculptural techniques and new experimental languages will merge, creating a harmonious outdoor circuit where the protagonists are the spaces, the works and the viewers themselves.
The Biennale of Scultura in Padova exhibition 'In land, water and air' in 2015 is considered one of the most important art exhibitions in Padua also for a major initiative aimed at young students: students from the final year of the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Venice , Urbino and Verona will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with the artists taking part in the event.
The atmosphere offered in Piazzola sul Brenta at Villa Contarini makes this art exhibition even more fascinating. A classic example of Baroque style, Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta in Padova is located in the background of the square of Piazzola sul Brenta, and is one of the largest Venetian villas. The main building, designed by Palladio, was expanded around the 17th century at the behest of Marco Contarini, and today is one of the most desirable locations in Veneto. In this regard, it must be said that in Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta, the events are numerous: the Hydrogen Festival and the Vintage market, which annually attracts thousands of spectators, have made this area a real artistic hub of Veneto, thanks also to the strategic location of Piazzola sul Brenta, in the great crossroad linking Padua, Treviso and Vicenza.
The Biennale of Scultura in Padova, managed by Professor Giuseppe Pin, has become an international event, to the point that the organizers are predicting that there will be about three hundred thousand visitors. The festival became part of the calendar of events in Padua in 2015 and provides interesting debates and discussion with professors and art critics such as Carla Chiara Frigo, Vittoria Coen and Boris Brollo.
A visit to experience the charm and originality of this unprecedented exhibition of contemporary art of 2015 is recommended: The Biennial Scultura in Padova 'In land, water and air' is waiting for you from 24th April to 28th October in the background of the historic Villa Camerini in Piazzola sul Brenta, an original art exhibition, in a fabulous location!
