Make a note in your diary for 21 February: Sellaronda SkiMarathon 2014! One of the most exciting alpine ski events at night, which takes place between Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige. The Dolomites marathon also touches on the beautiful centre of Arabba in Belluno.

Now in its 20th edition, sellaronda skimarathon 2014 will start from Canazei (Tn) and then proceed along the familiar and fascinating tour of the 4 passes through the Sella, Dolomites. A unique race in the world, ideal to test even the most experienced skiers.

Due to the major technical difficulties to be faced along the Sellaronda Marathon route only very experienced athletes can be allowed entry, who will compete in pairs and comply with the security measures imposed by the regulations. Participants must complete the Sellaronda Dolomites ski race in a maximum time of six and a quarter hours.

The alpine skiing race Sellaronda in Italy is 42 km long and, as usual, includes the main locations of the four valleys surrounding the Sella mountain. Arabba, Canazei, Selva di Val Gardena and Corvara will be included in this extraordinary alpine ski racing event. The four towns are alternated each year in hosting the start and finish of the race. For the Sellaronda Dolomites event in 2014 Canazei has been chosen.

Four splendid Dolomite passes (Sella, Gardena, Campolongo and Pordoi three provinces (Trento, Bolzano and Belluno) and a total ascent up to about 2800 metres of alpine skiing in the Dolomites. The 4 passes of the Sellaronda is still one of the most exciting Dolomites ski marathons!

If you are planning to spend a magical snowy weekend in the Dolomites or Sellaronda of Arabba, remember that this Dolomites event will take place between 8:20pm and 10:30pm, on Friday 21 February.

The starting point for the Dolomites marathon in Italy in 2014 is in Canazei (Tn) at 6pm. Do not miss it!
