Summon your friends, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren to participate in the 42nd edition of ‘Su e zo per i ponti’ in Venice, due to be held on 19 April 2020!

'Su e zo per i ponti' ('up and down the bridges') is a walk that involves young and not-so-young, families, schools, groups, sport teams and more, around the streets, squares and bridges of the city, all together during a day devoted to companionship, friendship and solidarity.

Since its first edition, back in 1975, solidarity is at the heart of ‘Su e zo per i ponti’ in Venice. Today it is considered one of the most important events in the annual calendar of Venice! All earnings from this initiative have always been donated to charity: this year the Salesian community Monte Salvado in Quebrada Honda, Peru will receive the proceeds from the event!

In addition to celebrating the joy of togetherness, this walk is also a way to discover the most fascinating corners of Venice, where the local inhabitants are often barred due to the massive presence of tourists: this original event also aims to promote sustainable tourism to preserve over time the history, art and culture of this magical city and its lagoon. The slogan of this 42nd edition, ‘Open new roads!’, aims at inviting participants to explore new paths and to discover the less known -but more real and authentic- places of Venice. Join us for the Venice solidarity walk Up and Down the Bridges 2020 to discover the true soul of this lagoon island!

What are the Su e zo per i ponti 2020 routes?

The Su e zo per i ponti 2020 program includes two types of routes:

  • A 7-km-long short route over 27 bridges. Start point is at the Santa Lucia Railway Station and finish in St Mark’s Square.

For groups of over 50 participants there will also be a cup in addition to the medals and the plaque!

These awards will be handed out to celebrate the eight hundredth years of the arrival of St. Francis of Assisi in Venice returning from Jerusalem! Francesco della Vigna’ by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto.

In addition to these truly unique gifts, those who so wish, can purchase the "Su e zo per i ponti" 2020 collection solidarity t-shirt at the cost of €8. For each T-shirt sold, €1 will be donated to charity!
