Because theXXVIIIth Edition of the Summer Opera Festival Veneto combines precisely these two elements: the splendid historical region of the foothills of the Veneto and the best of contemporary arts (theatre, dance, music and cinema which take place at 32 cities, with Bassano del Grappa at their head. Its historic piazzas, villas and castles, as well as its museums and parks will host 400 shows over two months: international productions such as Mikhail Baryshnikov (14/7 Momix (1 and 2/8 Rudra Bjart Lausanne (18/7 Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro La Fenice directed by Eliahu Inbal (11/7 Ivan Lins All Star Band (17/7 Alessandro Bergonzoni (13/7) and many more. What better way for the Veneto to rejoice in its cultural heritage than with art? Events include Dance (evening events, choreography, Dance in the Castle, Dance in the Villas, International Dance raids Theatre (Mattatori, The Return of Shakespeare, Visions of War, The Home of the Theatre, The Taste of the Theatre, Project Habitat Music (The Classical Summer, Homage to the Author, From Swing to Bossa Nova, Enjoyment in Music, Opera in Concert Cinema (Directors screenings and, this year, B Motion, a festival within a festival which aims at promoting contemporary theatre and dance. In autumn the Opera Festival foresees a programme of Verdis Aida (7 and 9/11) and La Traviata (12 and 14/12).
