The Pope in Venice

The Pope will arrive in Venice on 7 May and will stay at the headquarters of the Patriarchy and in the morning of 8 May will say mass at the Parco San Giovanni in Mestre. The event will be broadcast worldwide in front of a 150.000 crowd of believers who will arrive here from across the whole of Northern Italy for this special occasion.
The Pope will make his way back to Venice on a motorboat with a procession of boats following him. In the afternoon Benedict 16th will preside in St Marks Basilica over the ecclesiastic assembly held to conclude his Pastoral visit, he will then make a final visit to the Church of Health where he will meet representatives from cultural and arts organizations and the business world.
A highly awaited event from all the religious people of the province who are eager to celebrate this day, an event that will go down in history and one that enriches this region with another memorable date.
