Great expectations for the Treviso Marathon 2017: Sunday 5th March get ready on the start line to take part in the famous race that crosses some of the most beautiful areas of the Veneto region!
Treviso half marathon and full marathon have by now reached a high position in the list of the most popular races in Italy, each year attracting important national and international athletes.
Besides the classic Treviso Marathon, 42.195 km route, the Treviso Half Marathon will also take place, 21.097 km, now in its 2nd edition. Both races are included in the calendars of IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations), AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and FIDAL.
Since 2014, the Marathon Treviso Italy has been going through a series of developments that affect several organizational aspects: in 2014 in fact, the Treviso marathon cleared the old numbering so as to symbolize a new beginning, which has also affected the IT and social side, to ensure it is always at the forefront among marathons in Italy.
After the first big change of 2014, which saw the Treviso Marathon depart from Conegliano in front of the Church of San Pio X, in 2016 the arrival, first established in the City of Treviso, has also been transferred to Conegliano.
Treviso Marathon & Half Marathon route 2017
The starting and finish lines will be the same for both racecourses, certified Class A IAAF for the approval of the highest category records. Starting in Corso Mazzini and arriving in Viale Carducci, the Treviso marathon route will give the runners charming views, for example with the Gradinata degli Alpini and the charming historic centre of Conegliano.
After the start from Conegliano, the fascinating Treviso Marathon course in 2017 will cross Mareno di Piave, passing through Ramera, entering the territory of Vazzola to continue in Via Cal di Prade. San Polo di Piave and Ormelle will be the next towns to be touched by the Treviso Marathon, which will continue towards Cimadolmo, crossing San Michele di Piave and the picturesque Borgo Malanotte located in Tezze di Piave. At this point the marathon will return to the territory of the municipality of Mareno di Piave, in the village Bocca di Strada, to then return to Conegliano passing through the neighbourhood of Campolongo.
The Chesa dei Templari in Tempio (Ormelle), Borgo Malanotte (Tezze di Piave) and Villa Papadopoli Giol (San Polo di Piave) are the most spectacular places that marathon runners can admire during the Treviso Marathon on 5th March!
The Treviso Half Marathon 2017 will follow the same route as the classic marathon for the first 8 km: in Mareno di Piave, after having passed by the typical vineyards of the Piave area, the half marathon will make a detour, subsequently returning on the standard route at 32 km.
The marathon 1.4 offers athletes a relatively fast itinerary and without any particular difficulties. The sections along the Pontebbana state road have been almost entirely eliminated, which had been included in many of the previous editions of the Treviso Marathon: Conegliano, rural scenery and charming villages along the way have been included in the route as part of an aim to promote the beauty of the Treviso countryside.
Runners can pick up bib number and race packet at the Treviso Marathon Expo 2017 Saturday, March 4th from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, March 5th from 7.30am to 9.15am.
Time recording and processing of the ranks for the marathon and half-marathon in Treviso will be completed via an electronic chip. The chip will be handed out together with the bib, and those who do not wear one will not be added to the final rankings. Furthermore carpets for recording of partial times will be positioned , at 10, 21,097 and 30 km.
The time limit to finish the Treviso Marathon 1.4 is 6 hours; 3 hours for the half marathon.
Medical assistance, refreshments and sponging areas are available along the entire racecourse.
Treviso Marathon start time: 9.40am
Treviso Half Marathon start time: 9.40am
Besides the two main races, La Butto in Vacca® Running Friends will also take place: a recreational playful event created with the intention to involve families and inexperienced runners. Now in its 3rd edition, the Moohrun consists of two different courses, 5 and 10 km, both with start and finish line in Piazza Cima in Conegliano. Participants will decide which course to follow directly during the race. Money donated to the Moohrun La Butto in Vacca® Running Friends will be partly donated to charity.
