The biggest wine exhibition in the world is back from 25-28 March for its 46th edition. An event not-to-be-missed for those in the wine trade. Vinitaly has been accompanying the development of the agriculture and food sectors since 1967. The main event in calendar of the Verona Exhibition Centre, the International Wine and Spirits Show has become the best ambassador of Italy Inc. around the world and also an excellent representative of a quality food and wine industry that has always offered innovation together with tradition. A huge event with international leverage, its figures are staggering: a show area covering almost 95 thousand square meters, more than 4 thousand exhibitors and 156 thousand visitors, with 47 thousand foreign visitors and more than 2 thousand journalists from specialist press (from 345 countries). Vinitaly is a business serving exhibition and addressing the entire category of wine related professions (producers, importers, distributors, technicians) who will have the opportunity to be in close contact with the best representatives of an ever growing sector. Given its past success, the location will be the same, given the fact that is home to some of the best Italian wines. The 2012 edition will represent the world we love: wine first of all, but also quality, land, the environment and its heritage, men and their feats, small villages and their history. This editions new feature is the duration: not from Thursday to Monday but from Sunday to Wednesday, in order to generate better business opportunities. This will also be better suited to coincide with the closing weekly days of restaurant and pub owners and chefs. Likeevery year, there will be a tightly-packed calendar of great events, tastings, wine making classes, conferences and workshops, all aiming at putting wineries and exhibitors in contact with international buyers. A rich and diverse programme that will go beyond the confines of the exhibition area: Palazzo della Gran Guardia, Piazza Bra, will in fact host Vinitaly for You, an evening wine event with tastings and live music dedicated to the aficionados of good wine.
Vinitaly is open only to companies and specialist visitors over 18: under 18s are not allowed, even if accompanied by an adult. Registration is compulsory.
