- April 11, 1587: after the closure of Banchi Privati and the establishment of Banco pubblico on December 28, 1584, the Banco della Piazza di Rialto is created: its administration is entrusted to a banker called Governatore del Banco and, as a guarantee for depositors, activities are controlled by Provveditori sopra i Banchi; the Bank's function is to receive deposits and carry out transfer operations by means of the so-called partita di banco.
- April 11, 1636: great feast in Padua, organized by Pio Enea degli Obizzi, in Pra 'della Valle set up as a theater. Spectators access it at pre-established hours according to the seats distributed as follows: in the first rows the Rectors and the nobles, then university students and foreign nobles, in the last rows the citizens. The celebration begins with a tournament on foot and on horseback, followed by the drama Ermiona, written for the occasion by Pio Enea degli Obizzi. In the intervals, to the sound of violas and violins, choreographic dances are intertwined in which eighty Paduan women participate. A witness of the time writes: 'Of superhuman beauty and majestic manners, for the excellence of honesty and for the richness of the ornaments they showed themselves truly worthy of having been invited to the wedding of a goddess'.
