A 17th century Venetian casino, gambling, hot chocolate and pastries for an original afternoon of the Venice Carnival!
On Friday 5 February 2016 you can spend a couple of hours at the table and relive the dissolute and luxurious atmosphere of the casinos of the past, recreated for the occasion in a former noble residence located just a few steps from St Mark's Square.
Palazzo Contarini della Porta di Ferro is an excellent example of a Venetian residence. After careful restoration, the building has original furnishings and great charm with gilded mirrors, antique fireplaces, paintings, prints, tapestries and precious rugs and chandeliers in Murano glass.
Carnival chocolate at Casinò dei Contarini boasts a spectacular and charming location, where you can fully enjoy the timeless magic of Venice… and its most famous vices!
Two croupiers in period costume will describe to you the brief history of the 17th century Venice casinos and then get you involved in some of the most popular gambling games.
A break with hot chocolate, typical pastries, coffee and Prosecco before getting back to the table for another round!
All participants must wear a mask to fully create the atmosphere of the past and the total anonymity that were guaranteed by the Carnival...
