Are you thinking of visiting Murano and Burano in Venice ... Perhaps with a convenient start from Venice? An exciting and fascinating tour of the islands dedicated to those who want to discover the two most famous islands of the Venetian lagoon and savour every moment of their picturesque and relaxing atmosphere. This, in a nutshell, is the program of our fascinating half day private excursion to Murano and Burano!
Among our many boat tours to the Venice islands we now offer a proposal that includes a private visit to Murano and Burano, a tour of the most famous Venetian islands, to explore them freely and in total independence unlike a collective excursion!
Located north of the historic centre of Venice, Murano and Burano offer beautiful handicrafts that have made them famous worldwide: the first is characterized by the centuries-old glass manufacturing, the second for its sophisticated lace, not to mention the original colourful buildings. Visiting Murano and Burano will give you the most authentic and unusual side of Venice!
During this fascinating tour you will discover the best of Murano and Burano, what to visit, their traditions and the most special places, on a relaxing boat while enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the Venetian lagoon.
The first stop of the boat ride from Venice to Murano and Burano will include the homeland of glass: the old Murano glassworks guard secrets that have been handed down from generation to generation. In Murano you will have the opportunity to purchase original and unique beautiful works of glass art, with the certainty of it being an authentic piece! The trip will then continue to the island of Burano, where you can stroll through unique streets of brightly coloured houses and discover the small masterpieces of lace made by expert makers on the island.
To help you fully appreciate Murano and Burano, the private standard visit includes only two stops:
- in Murano on request we can arrange a free visit to a glass factory with a demonstration of the art of glass blowing. If you do not want to, you can freely manage the time at your disposal on the island;
- in Burano you can visit the island, buy local products or simply relax before returning to the boat for the return trip to Venice.
The private half-day excursion to Murano and Burano has a duration of about 4 hours and can be customized in some parts according to your requests:
- departure time to be agreed (both morning and afternoon)
- meeting point of your choice:
- o Venice Saint Lucia train station – F30 pier near Costituzione Bridge
- o Fondamenta Nove
- o Riva degli Schiavoni near Cornoldi barracks.
- additional stop in Torcello Island
The time on each island (approx. 1 hour/1 hour and 30 minutes) varies depending on the starting point in Venice and consequent navigation timing: the duration of each stop is agreed at the time of reservation and must be respected by all participants.
Please note that the departure from Venice Saint Lucia Railway Station means longer sailing times from St Mark's or Fondamenta Nove, thus reducing the time available on each island, including the additional stop in Torcello: the time available on each island is therefore reduced to approximately 40 minutes. The arrival point in Venice (where you land at the end of the excursion) might not coincide with the point of departure, provided it is always one of the points mentioned above (Venice Saint Lucia Railway Station, Fondamenta Nove or Riva degli Schiavoni).
With this tour you will be visiting Murano and Burano on a covered deck boat. The trip to Murano and Burano will also take place in case of rain, unless there are extraordinary conditions that could compromise a safe navigation - departing from Venice, at a meeting point of your choice from the options above!
Visiting Murano and Burano: a tour among the colours, the sounds and the traditions of a Venice of the past.
May we remind you that the person indicated on the above price is valid for groups of at least 35 people; and 1 free entry is scheduled for every 20 paying guests.
When you fill out the request form, please indicate the departure time of your choice, the meeting point of arrival in Venice (Venice Saint Lucia Train Station, Fondamenta Nove or Riva degli Schiavoni) and if you would like the stop in Torcello.
