Full description

Take one of the best walking tours of Venice in English: a new opportunity to visit the hidden places in Venice Italy, discovering magical places, keepers of ancient traditions and unique treasures ...

During one of our walking tours in Venice, you will wander through the fascinating Castello district on foot and then you will relax on board a speedboat for a quiet ride on the Grand Canal: the city will unveil its most authentic and less touristic side and you will have the pleasure to discover Venice secret places.

Thanks to this new Venice secret itinerary tour, you can immerse yourself in the ancient and genuine daily life still surviving only in the hidden corners of Venice, off the main tourist routes generally located between Rialto and San Marco. Let yourself be seduced by the lesser known side of one of the most beautiful and famous cities in the world!

Setting itself apart from the usual walking tours in Venice, this walk of the city hides many other extraordinary beauties ... The whole city center is a work of art, among narrow streets, elegant buildings and small bridges crossing the maze of waterways running through Venice.... A quiet ride on the Grand Canal and along the smaller canals to complete the excursion, and you're done! A unique and exciting tour to learn about the hidden places in Venice from a double perspective!

This guided walking and motor boat tour of Venice will start in the heart of the city, in Saint Mark's Square: you will meet the guide under the Clock Tower and she will accompany you in this original Venice secret places itinerary (walking tour and boat ride).

Leaving Saint Marks' Square, you will walk through Castello, one of the most populated districts of the city and home to many places, full of history and charm. Our fascinating walk, considered one of the best walking tours in Venice, will show you some places which are usually forgotten, such as the church and the Campo San Zaccaria in Venice - the first is one of the oldest churches in Venice, rebuilt in Renaissance style in the '400 as a result of a terrible fire; the second, and also homonymous field, is a place rich in history and legend ... In the past, Campo San Zaccaria was an important religious center for Venice where, in addition to the church by the same name, there was a Benedictine convent welcoming the young women of the most prominent families of the Venetian aristocracy; the church of San Giorgio dei Greci, beautiful building in late-Renaissance style, built for the Greek community of Venice in the sixteenth century and now used as a cathedral for the Italian Orthodox Archdiocese; the School of San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, founded in 1451 to allow the Schiavoni (the populations of Dalmatia subjected to Venice) to come together in one place, and one of the few schools in Venice to have continued its activities to the present day; the old Arsenal of Venice, the beating heart of the shipping industry of the Venetian Republic, abandoned for a long time to his fate, recently used for many cultural activities and events  to recover its vast and fascinating spaces.

During the above described itinerary (Campo San Zaccaria, San Giorgio dei Greci, San Giorgio degli Schiavoni and the Arsenal of Venice), this Venice Arsenal tour will take place entirely on foot and does not include visits inside the buildings.

The motor boat tour of Venice will start from Rio Galeazze, where you'll board the speedboat to go and see many additional hidden corners of Venice from the water, considered the best prospective if you want to capture the true essence of this magical city. The Grand Canal and the Cannaregio district will parade in front of you in an extraordinary array of unique glimpses, ancient palaces and stunning views of Venice. Aboard one of the elegant touring speedboats of Venice you will ride along the waterways of the city listening to the explanations of our expert guide ... Through this Grand Canal tour in Venice in Italy, from the boarding dock, you will sail along the small internal canals up to Fondamenta Nuove, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Lagoon with the islands of San Michele, Murano and Burano. You will then return to the city along other small and characteristic waterways, leading directly to the world's most beautiful watercourse, the Grand Canal of Venice. This Hidden Venice Italy tour will continue along the main artery of the city, allowing you to admire the beautiful buildings along its banks, immortal testimonies of the power and wealth achieved by the Most Serene Republic...

After another part through the hidden waterways of Venice, you will conclude the Grand Canal tour in Venice Italy towards San Marco, the landing point.

An unprecedented journey to discover the hidden places in Venice in Italy, on foot and by boat! A walk in the Castello district to explore the area of San Zaccaria in Venice and other fascinating places, most still quite unknown, including the majestic Arsenal, a tour of the Grand Canal of Venice and the picturesque smaller canals between Castello and Cannaregio, to discover the secret corners and buildings from a water viewpoint... Book now: Venice will unveil its lesser-known sides, with a fascinating double route of just two hours!

'Away from the crowd, and what a view from the boat'

We were traveling with two tween girls. The walking tour was just the right length. The guide took us through back lanes and gave us a taste of the real Venice. The motorboat ride was fabulous as well. We took the tour on the first day that we arrived and it gave us a good perspective of Venice.

'Good Tour'

We enjoyed the tour very much! We visited Castello, a beautiful ancient residential borough of Venice and got to know some less touristic Venice. The motorboat ride was great fun. The tour started on time. Thank you for the nice experience!
