An original romantic itinerary in Venice to experience the magic of the sunset in a Venetian boat ride around the lagoon, toasting the enchanting scenery of St Mark's Basin. Comfortably seated at the edge of a traditional Venetian boat you will enjoy a unique spectacle, to share with someone special!
This fascinating romantic tour in Venice uses only two types of boats made from wood and constructed by local craftsmen with the techniques used since ancient times: the Sampierotta and Bragozzo. The Venice Lagoon, traditional Venetian boats and the incomparable magic of a sunset seen from the water give rise to one of the most fascinating boat tours in Venice!
Thanks to the flat bottom and conformation of these traditional Venetian boats, they can reach the most characteristic and least touristy parts of the Venetian lagoon. The expert staff who will accompany you on this unusual Venetian romantic boat ride will show you the islands that you will encounter along the way in a mix of history and tradition.
Once used for fishing and transportation of goods in the northern Adriatic, the Bragosso fell into disuse after the advent of motor vessels in Venice. The Bragozzo used for this Lagoon tour of Venice, Italy was built in 2006, according to the design of the fifties, and decorated by the students of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice. The Bragosso tour can accommodate up to 11 people.
Agile and highly versatile, the Sampierotta is a typical fishing boat of the southern lagoon and much appreciated because it is able to navigate in very shallow water by rowing, sailing or powered by a motor and can acomodate up to 4 people.
After boarding at the indicated meeting point, the Sunset tour in Venice takes you along a fascinating navigation route in the Venice lagoon: the island of Vignole, St Andrea, Venice Lido and the islands of St Lazzaro degli Armeni, St Servolo, St Clemente and Le Grazie in front of you will give you a unique and romantic view. Between the island of Giudecca and St Giorgio Maggiore, you will enjoy a toast while admiring the beautiful scenery of St Mark's Basin at sunset. On the way back, you will pass the island of St Helena and the Arsenal before returning to the starting point, ending our fascinating panoramic sunset tour of Venice.
Sampierotta or Bragozzo: Venice Lagoon tour of tradition, romance and fabulous scenery that will give you unforgettable emotions!
The boats used in our itineraries in the lagoon is decided based on the number of participants. In case of groups over 11 people, the Sampierotta can be used as a support to the Bragozzo in order to accommodate groups of up to 15 people. Please note that both of them are powered by a motor. The departure time of the tour varies depending on the period, in line with the time of sunset.

'Not what we expected!'
We really didn't expect a 'row boat' with an engine! It wasnt at sunset either. Four of us in the windy, choppy water - not the romantic sunset tour we envisaged! Thomas was knowledgeable and entertaining but wouldn't choose to do it again. The experience has given us 'something to tell friends back home'. Our Ghost Tour was better fun and a better experience of Venice.

we are sorry you were not satisfied with this tour but pleased you appreciated the professionalism of our driver Thomas! Please note that the tour description specified that boats ‘can be rowed, sailed and powered by a motor’ and we regret you missed these important details before booking. However, since we think that clients’ reviews are very useful to improve our services (as you can see, we are constantly collecting opinions from our clients on our website), we have decided to be even clearer than before in conveying the boats specifications on the text! As for the weather, please consider that we cannot be held responsible for this... The tour is usually suspended only in case of bad weather, such as rain or heavy wind that can prevent a safety navigation... windy or choppy water is not included among these cases!
We want to thank you for your feedback about this tour and for your positive comment about our Mysteries and Ghosts of Venice tour.Best regards,
The venetoinside.com staff

'Nice walking tour'
It was a nice walk. We visited Saint Mark's Square and then moved to less crowded areas, which I liked a lot. I suggest this tour to those who want to see different things and don't have much time. The guide was very informative. Easy booking procedure.
